Geoffroy Mauvais
Head of the Program on African Protected Areas & Conservation, IUCN

Geoffroy Mauvais is a veterinarian who has been involved in wildlife conservation and protected areas management in Africa for almost 30 years. He has joined the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2006, and has been coordinating the program on protected areas & conservation in Africa since then (more onwww.papaco.org). The program works on enhancing governance, management and sustainability of protected areas in Africa, in particular through capacity development and trainings, on site and online (www.mooc-conservation.org). He has lived in West and East Africa and is based now in Pretoria (South Africa).
