Mathieu has been working for seventeen years topromote a more ethical and sustainable way to conserve and manage the tropical forests. He holds a MSc in tropical ecosystems management from Paris 12 University.

He worked 15 years in Central Africa and established the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) regional office for Congo Basin in Brazzaville.

Mathieu starts working at French Development Agencyin February 2019, and coordinates, amongst others, sustainable land-use programs in Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo and Myanmar.
