Sanjay Srivastava
Environmental expert and global leader in sustainable development

Sanjay is a trained environmental expert and a global leader in sustainable development with more than 30 years of applied international experience, including 18 years in Africa and South Asia region. Prior to joining the World Bank, Sanjay worked in the private sector (natural resource management consulting), public sector (environmental research utility), bilateral donor (clean technology financing), and non-government organization (conservation advocacy). Sanjay is currently Practice Manager, based in Washington DC, for the Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global Practice for West and Central Africa, where he manages a large team and the Bank’s engagement on lending and advisory support to promote nature-based solutions; strategy to promote biodiversity and forest conservation; growing the blue economy; and managing environmental risks across the Bank’s lending operation. He brings vast global experience in devising environmental strategy and policy dialogue related to sustainable development, as well ashands-on experience supporting complex environmental interventions in several developing countries.
